I think NW will be managing next year. I think he has loved his time with us. He has done wonders for us and we have done wonders for him in the sense that we have re-energised him. I also think that it would be naive to think that money is not a factor. So the question for me is whether he is with us or with a club with deeper pockets. If he is still with us then it must be as Manager. The Director of Football thing makes no sense to me. It hardly ever works and certainly not for NW. NW is not a behind the scenes tinkering kind of bloke. He is a manager in the true sense. He motivates players, he manages the media, he intimidates the opposition, he winds people up if needed. He is a leader. He needs to be in the changing room, not the board room. He doesn't need to be here five days a week, but when he is here he needs to be in the thick of it. If he stays with us it should be exactly the set up we have got now which after all seems to have worked pretty well.

I don't think he will be here next season. He came in the sponsors lounge today and John Breckin was trying to draw him on it. He said the usual stuff - loving it, great lads, great little club etc and I am sure he meant it but for some reason I got the impression it was a 'probably not'.
