Sad to hear about Jack passing away , he was the manager when I got the Millers in my blood I remember the replay against Man U when once again a poor referee decision stopped us winning .Jack brought some good player's in ,remember Kieth Pring Barry Loyns both old fashioned winger's Brian Toby Tyler Les Chappel and others .We played football that was years ahead of its time he was if I remember right an excellent manager .Hope we do the right thing next home game and remember him .
Very sad news RIP Jack thanks for the memories.

Jolly Jack indeed-good times, good team.Sing along now-? is better than Torres,Casper is better than Eusebio and Lyons is better than Simoes
The best football I ever saw Rotherham United play was when Jack Mansell was manager. This is a big statement from someone who has watched the Miller's for over 65 years, but it is true. My second team is Barcelona and that is down to Jack who gave me an appreciation of one touch football and what a beautiful game football could be. Jack always had time for fans like me and I got to know him quite well when he managed the Miller's. I always enjoyed our discussions about the game we both loved. Rest in peace Jack and I offer my sincere condolences to his family. Jack Mansell was a real football man an advocate of how the game should be played and a real gentleman. God bless you Jack you will be sorely missed.
He was the manager when I was a lad watching the Millers with my old dad, who also always spoke of the footballing style he brought to the club, and often spoke well of him in the many years that followed.
