The worst kind of television. Testosterone fuelled, trying too hard to be controversial, arrogant, egotistical, base instinct, vacuous low grade rubbish. It will miss Clarkson.

Used to watch it when old Quinten used to present it a quality programme about cars. I know the present format was very very popular but I never saw the entertainment in aged, balding highly paid 5th formers smashing vehicles for laughs. Wanton destruction, and representative of all that is wrong with attitudes on telly these days, shouting, fighting, threatening, destroying and harrowing story lines no Gimme Monty Don on Gardeners World any time.......peace and tranquility wink

Hallelujah. The voice of reason Towdlad. It isn't big and clever for adults to behave like kids, be controversial for the sake of it, break stuff and get cheap laughs out of insulting people. Quite why people buy into it is beyond me. If I said that to Clarkson he'd probably label me a lefty killjoy or something similar. It's easy to behave like that and it perpetuates his image. It's the TV equivalent of the American shock jocks. Nothing creative or constructive to offer. I find it cringeworthy. I hope the new series minus Clarkson Hammond and May is a step up but they aren't off to the best of starts.

Must admit never really liked it.
Im much more inclined to a more analytical and fact based presentation .

Most men like facts and figures and comparisons but many also like the ladish stuff too.

If Clarkson and his mates weren't on it I would have watched it.

I too was OK with quinten and that other posh guy. Be nice for the BBC to do a very much more studied approach as an alternative

It always came over as a bit too contrived for me. Had some funny moments.

Agreed sickly. I once caught a bit of it once were it was shot in a studio with an audience, the banter was clearly rehearsed as was the laddish jibes at each other. The audience were in hysterics but for me it was rather flat and only mildly funny in parts, very plastic
