Keeps mentioning Bournemouth- while the enthusiasm is admirable unless you can fork out £4m on a striker Tony ain't gonna happen. The Wimbledon type days are over, reporter mentions Leicester and what are they? Solid at the back and have 2 blinding forward players that they'll be lucky to keep hold of in the summer. Having said that used the right way we have players in our squad able to ensure this club plays 2nd tier football next season. Warnock likes his teams to push others back and get in places that make them uncomfortable. Do that and Newell, Burke, G.Ward will shine

I agree. And I agree with your perception of Bournemouth , burton and leicester comparisons on the other thread.

The football they were playing started 8-9 seasons ago. They built very soundly and incremental and didn't really suffer setback. They are truly outstanding .

Yes and leicesters chairman "converted"£103million  of dept to shares thus effectively writing it off.I have no problem with it but it shows what the costs can be.(ps-looks like I chose the right avatar!)

Never say never is what I say. Priority is to stay in the Championship.

Tony Stewart is already on record as saying it`s not necessary to have a multi-million pound investor, so how`s he going to acheive his aim of reaching the Prem. It wont be from his wallet or inside pocket that`s for sure. He`s trying to run RUFC with the same approach he uses at ASD.

Guest and Chrimes needed sorting 2yrs ago, it`s holding the club back. A proposed Hotel is in the offing once G & C is sorted. The Hotel would bring a projected figure of £2m per annum into the club.

Hospitality is booming, booked up every home game. Sponsor`s are coming on board weekly / monthly, never seen as many Sponsor`s and not just from the Rotherham area. The ground is starting to be used on a daily basis and not just on matchday.

Turnover 2014 was around £11M. We would need to increase Revenue to around £18-20M before we even get anywhere near the Prem.

Incidently if we do survive I wouldn`t be at all surprised if season ticket prices were increased slightly after all we have been spoilt this last few years.

Yes, good post Tiger. We have seen a combination of firstly the site taking longer than was hoped to become a revenue generator and secondly the team through the back door that is the playoffs perhaps getting to the Championship sooner than expected -although you take it when it comes. That has left us a bit light financially relative to the division we are in. Look also at the noises he made when Redfearn was taken on and at the scope for the ground capacity to go up in steps, and recall his talk of five year plans etc and you can see that TS had a plan for incremental, steady growth. He has clearly not given up on it.

I would also like to the 'Redfearn remit' to continue, ie developing young players through the ranks, but for now the battle being to stay up.
