All press speculation, putting 2 and 2 together. Who is doing well as a manager at the moment with strong ties to the Millers? Bound to be in the frame. If it's not Warnock till the end of the season I will be very surprised indeed.

Is it why he was at the last home game?

Warnock was at the QPR game, because he's got affiliation with both clubs, that is what he said on Talksport with Alan Brazil. He is a weekly guest on there, reminiscing about how he loved the championship, and still does. He prefers it to the premiership, how true I don't know, but those words came out of his mouth. Interestingly nothing was mentioned about Rotherham, though I didn't get to hear all of the conversation, Derby vacancy was mentioned, but usually something is brought up about jobs that interest him, yet nothing was mentioned in the 40 mins I listened this morning heading to Sheffield.

should be a manager for the next 16 games then we see where we are, no need to rush to dish out big contracts

Agreed. Tony, if you or your oppo's read this, stop doling out three year contracts.

That makes sense.  But also interestingly having heard previous weeks comments, that Alan didn't go on about Derby, does make it interesting, I don't know if you have previously listened, they do drag that type of 'does that job interest you' throughout the morning when Warnock's on the show, even when the QPR job came up last time, did he fancy going back etc.  Time will tell, to me he has the experience, its an old club he has a lot of affinity to, and that he has fond memories about.
