did he fall...if he did, I imagine its just a tiny superficial scratch. Hardly do much damage from 2 feet.

a note about the article

very emotional read and enjoyed it.

some real interesting observations .

can we be sure he was so nervous socially?

if so has the guy ever had any therapy or specific sports psychology. seems a shame if not.

may well do better down the leagues if only because the pressure will seem smaller, but there is a question of real quality like the article may also hint at. Apart from a short spell at chesterfield the guy hasnt settled anywhere. How on earth can he be assessed? of course, he hasnt been able to get over the line enough and that as you say may be an accurate assessment of his potential at the higher levels.

Quite a thought provoking article that. Professional sport is a brutal arena. Any flaws you may have will be exposed in front of thousands, most of whom are desperate for one side or the other to win and so are not very forgiving. Not everyone can cope with it. The number of times he has been used as a sub suggests that a succession of managers have seen Bowery's potential (he undoubtedly has all the physical attributes needed to be very good and no shortage of ability) but have lacked the confidence to trust him to deliver. It is a shame. He is still a young man, and I hope he finds it in himself to realise his potential while he still has the chance.
