The difference with me is that I state my frustrations before the game so I am always liable to be proven wrong.
I couldn't see us scoring before their keeper dropped a clanger with Wards shot and it was crying out for another striker to come on. Once we had scored then Bolton had to press forward more which feeds into our hands with the likes of Grant Ward and the tremendous Newell.
Just have to be happy, good win another clean sheet. If you look at Boltons record they have a lot of draws, it was always going to take time to crack them.
Oneaday - the core of the team today was with us last season. There were very few of Evans' quality pre season signings on view. 4 wins in 7. Crappers (is that still his name?) has us playing a way that suits us and he is getting results and goals out of a squad he hasn't had much chance to shift around with yet.
as i said when he first came 4-2-3-1 suits our situation and squad simply, he is now getting more out of the players and well done to him, long may it continue
4-2-3-1 is an attacking formation not defensive 4-4-2 we would get slaughtered every week
As I sat watching the warm-up It was obvious to me that this was a team with no spirit left. Thankfully, we got the First Goal and they more or less lost focus.
I agree, First half it was crying out for changes. We couldnt get anything in the centre to press our advantage into the final third.
Bolton really made it difficult and were in no hurry to attack and one up front looked like a tactical mistake.
Second half and Bolton came out like the bells of st Trinians-It was a real kamikaze effort. We were nearly caught in those first several minutes as we have often been but we woke up and went head to head with them. The first Goal was enough against a side with no pride or fight left.

Redfearn deserved the name Crappers after dropping our best players and playing stupid formations. He cost us points in doing so. It now appears he has learnt his lesson.
First off I have never said Redfearn was a genius and I'm not daft enough to get carried away when we are fourth from bottom to say that all our problems are over. Clearly there is still a lot to do. But the fact is that his first few matches were against the top teams in the division and he had to learn about the players he inherited. To label him Crappers after a handful of games was disrespectful but I imagine he wouldn't have lost much sleep over it. But to constantly call for his head was ridiculous. He was according to some worse than a pub manager, clueless, a disaster, etc etc. When he lost it seemed to be all his fault and when he wins it is because Evans left him good players and he has finally learnt. The level of bias against him is strange. I will say it again, I am not his agent or anything but can we give the bloke our support and a bit of time and see what he can do instead of getting on his back just because he isn't Steve Evans? He seems at least to be honest, and all the feedback I get suggests the players love playing for him. Despite the misconception that 451 is negative we look now to have goals in us and we have some confidence in the team, although I am sure we will still go 442 from time to time depending on personnel and the opposition. Well done so far Neil.

Just about said it all there Smiler, the guy deserves some respect, and a blinking medal for taking that lot on. Redfearn was not my first choice as new manager but I firmly believe he has more footballing nouse than the previous in***bent and my little spat against Oneaday further up this thread, was unlike me but it was said in a fit of pique, in frustration at folks always prepared to have a dig.
The only criticism, for me, was his outburst a couple of weeks ago, it was unprofessional, however who can blame him. Whether they are his players or no, good or bad, they were not performing as they should under Evans and they continued to underperform when Redfearn came, but the fact is he has pulled them into some shape and they are beginning to play as a team and getting results, we wont win every game but we're starting to have a damn good go and that deserves credit.

You're right, to call him Crappers was disrespectful and to call for his head was ridiculous. Perhaps I should have said it in a different way along the lines of:
'These players are not good enough', and 'there will be new players arriving in January'.
Can I just state for the record, Redfearn has my full support and I desperately want him to succeed. I just get slightly aggrieved when he constantly moans that the players are not good enough whilst at the same time not playing his best players.
One thing I am sure about is that we all want us to do well. The good news is that although Redfearn did inherit a lot of players who were not good enough he found them out and got rid of some on loan (Maguire, Bowery, White, Halford). Hopefully in January he can get shut of one or two more and we can improve further. Personally I don't see Collins, Derbyshire, Ledesma or Green featuring again but if you take the side that has done so well in the last couple of games and use the money saved on what you move out to add to that nucleus then maybe we have a real chance.
