Once again the British government prove what an utter shambolic overseas policy and naive and heartless decision makers we have. I'm ashamed once again to be British.
Our brave and committed troops once more deployed in a pointless battle on a God forsaken part of the world and for what? There was never any strategy, or hope that the mission could be successful yet they died lambs to the slaughter.
Now, and at such a symbolic and family time more British and UN troops are sent back, and this after the government vowed that we would not be going back. The Afghans are useless. Utterly incapable of the rule of law in that part of their country. They are corrupt, immoral, vile and despicable. The Taliban may actually be preferable to what we had to leave in charge.
Ashamed and bewildered.

And to think all our boys that were lost, for what !!! to let the Afghans relinquish it.
Why do we get involved in these senseless wars, oh yes i know why - OIL !!!
Until we are energy sufficient we will always have this senseless fracas and military commitments.
But we could and should have been if we have not cut subsidies to renewable's, and the dash for gas is in my eyes very short sighted.
Just like every government since the late 40's.
Why is it we cant master tidal power? this if harnessed would mean we would be self sufficient and no need for importing large and vast quantities of LPG into ****ord Haven to satisfy the Gas requirements.
The lights wont go out, and we would be a world leader and be able to export our products across the world, just like we did with the Railways.
I dont want utopia but i need to know my grandkids ( as and when they arrive) will be in a world where we learn from our previous mistakes and we live to get along, paradoxically this is Utopia.
