I dont get it, for two games, Leeds away and Brissol at NY we play some nice football n come away with 6 points. After these game Redfern compliments JCH, G Ward in particular but says they are young players who need to learn and may go missing every now and then Come Wolves at home we revert to 90 mins of route 1. Not the ball for JCH or our youngish talented mid field. Come full time the afore mentioned talent gets the blame for not doing more with the ball provided to em and not being intersted. Well Mr Redfern you have to ask yourself what tactics you played against Leeds n Brissol compared with Wolves .......
i dont think he messed up the wolvwes defenders won the battle with harris and thats he why he was out the game and ref didnt help letting them foul him as much
I think against Wolves we changed quickly to one up front and five across the middle (4 3 3 or 4 5 1 whichever way you want to put it) which matched them up (Le Fondre was down the middle on his own for them) and that made for a game where there was very little space and the two teams cancelled each other out. I think he had to do that because early on we couldn't get the ball enough and they were cutting through us almost at will and looking really dangerous. Add in the very difficult conditions and it made for a pretty scrappy game but at least we stayed in it. I don't think Redfearn sent them out there to play long ball football. I am sure Wolves weren't intending to play long ball either but as it happened Le Fondre ended up competing with Collins and Broadfoot for a lot of headers as well (he seems to have learnt how to back in and make it difficult even when he cant win the header). It is just how the game panned out.
