It's all he's got in the short term to improve the quality of the personnel. You can't improve players by coaching and see results overnight. Our loan options are exhausted. We need a quick fix. It smacks a bit of desperation.
They aren't contracted for a reason, medical, or that clubs will not bend to their agents demands with ref to their age and how much game time they've had.
Signing these would send out a very stark and bleak message
This is the clearest sign that we are doomed this season.
One has to wonder..., 60 + applicants; did we need someone with actual experience to give us any canice of staying up. I think we did.
Different managers will do different things. That's why , I, like many others were wondering if a seasoned pro with experience of stopping the rot at clubs time and time again might have been a better appointment.
Redfern adds to his incompetent looking profile everyday.
It's really bad.

why is redders culpable and incompetent what other option does he have coming in after the transfer windows has closed yes it may be desperate but we can only have so many loans and this will be short term measure until january . Its not his fault if tony was unsure about evans then he should have got rid at the end of last season or before end of august
I think he was released for a serious breach of his contract in some way, and it just added fuel to the fire that the budget had been increased say 15% and instead of seeing a 25% increase on the field it was apparent a 50% decrease!
I don't think the mess can be sorted in 1 summer window. January is not a good window, player value and wage demands are skewed as clubs chasing promo make the gamble to go up & those at the other end spend in desperation. Add to that, there will be many contracts that will simply have to expire as either nobody wants them, they're not prepared to take a wage hit to drop down and play (really who would) etc. Redfearn will need this and next summer to get the shape of what he wants / needs. For now, like he said he's gonna have to shelve a lot of it, we're not in the luxury of mid table, we're so far from it even mid table L1 looks a tall order with this squad its that bad.
I was adamant we had too much about us last year to go down, during the season Evans made many errors of judgement and it should have been more comfortable than what it was. But in his fashion instead of building onto it so at least we had a base point of having the right stuff to probably stay up, supplemented by a splash of quality that could take us mid table he ripped it apart.
These season, I'm adamant we'll go down unfortunately. The only thing that will stop it is a truck load of spending in January and an awful lot of luck
Where I disagree is with the appointment of Redders in the beginning so I'm sticking with that. So far he is making my choice look good.
Re his choices:
He had turned out some awful performances and it all feels much worse than it ever did under evans.
He promised fight, attack and playing with the ball at feet. He said we had talented players. A few results in and it's rubbish.
Also, while I agree re the legacy from evans, Redfern s choice of potential loan players is bad. So bad if it was evans...you know the rest.
If you are a fan that accepts we need to go down then I have no argument because Redders will do that. If you say its evans fault I can't agree. That's it basically. For it to be evans fault wouldn't Redders have to prove he was better. Well, he certainly isn't doing that. We will have to wait till league one and maybe another 2-4 seasons before we can judge him based on some fans criteria. Just doesn't make sense.
If he doent show substantial signs of improvement surely he has to go?

Would agree with that Exeter. NR was not my first choice, I would have liked to see Gray take over, but to be honest I think even had we the where with all to get a top name I'm pretty sure he would struggle with what we have, the one year contracts and loans offer little security hence little enthusiasm or loyalty for the club
