When Evans left

RUFC were 1:4 on to be relegated with most bookies.  They still are.  Please stop rewriting history.  Evans had his chance and blew it.

We will never know what went off. At the moment it looks as though Tony Stewart has blown it for us.

Well we may find out according to TTB.  My comment reads a bit harsh on SE.  The point I was making is that some supporters are now stating as if a fact that Evans would have got us out of trouble.  The bookies and many pundits didn't agree.

Let's get it right, Evans didn't leave us in a relegation battle, he left us just 7 straight wins away from a playoff place.

Haha, like it DKNY biggrin, for what it's worth, i now see us at the crossroads, and the defending on saturday took me right back to the first game of the season, i thought it was groundhog day, anyway, we now have to treat the next game as the start of our season, simple as that!!!

I agree with all that.  The defending was calamitous from the kick off and it felt just like the MK Dons game from start to finish.  Fulham was a bit similar too.  Looking back on Saturday, it went wrong after about 15 seconds.  A straight punt upfield by them, three defenders there to deal with it, nobody took responsibility, Collins thought a blind back header was the answer and he put it on a plate for their forward.  Even though Camp saved it, you could sense the 'here we go again' anxiety around the ground.  I am sure that transmitted itself to the players (on both sides), and it went from bad to worse very quickly.  The most disappointing thing was that it was the two most experienced players on the pitch for us who should have at least shown some leadership who went downhill fastest.  It is a big ask of younger players like Ward, Thorpe, Barker, Rawson and Toffolo to get a grip of it when Green and Collins are making schoolboy errors.  I also agree though that we've got no choice but to knuckle down and try and at least get the basics right and work hard to improve.
