Beasts of No Nation - film

Watched this last night.  Powerful, disturbing stuff and a must-watch.  Similar theme to Tears of the Sun but without the Hollywood essentials of big-hearted beautiful bimbo doctor and heroic US Special Forces saving the day.

What you get from Beasts probably depends on your outlook.  For me it confirmed that Africa is a sh*thole and many Africans are pretty much still savages.  For my wife, who is a nicer and more liberal person than me, the message was "Why is the West not doing more to help these people?  After all the violence is a legacy of our colonial past..."

Yeah, right.  Get Jeremy Corbyn in there and that woman from Kids Company.  If these kids had been hugged and had a good music and poetry teacher they would never have hacked people to death.  Makes sense to me.

A good bedtime story does it for me. Tales of the Gruffalo and In the Night Garden with Iggle Piggle should have been read to those children.

Here's me with the Ridgeway Bedtime Library helicopter making a delivery on behalf of Children in Need.
