in the games against teams that are our rivals to stay up. 1 point from 9 and two of those games from home. Wherever you are in the league success is determined by how you do in the teams that are in your mini league. We should have packed the midfield and played for a point.
20% of the season over so not too soon to say how is it going, I think Redfearn was the correct appointment but his job will be getting us back to this level, we can't compete at this level in my view. I would add to that I don't believe anyone at the club really thinks we can, they have decided to consolidate minimise investment and pray for a miracle and build again from League 1 if we go down.
Before I get accused of being too negative I think it is a prudent approach and realistic, and we have to accept our limitations.
Over the last 3 and a bit seasons I've not seen one positive post from you and yet here we are in the championship. My money says we will still be in the championship this time next year.
oneaday rubbish i make lots of positive posts, this isn't negative it is an opinion and observation. Put it this way I will go to the games buy my season ticket, support the team and never boo. I am a realistic supporter that knows we are playing above our natural level and appreciate the reality. so sod off
Steve Evans and Tony Stewart are excellent

I would like to say well done to Steve Evans and Tony Stewart for doing everything they can to keep trying to move Rotherham United forward both on and off the pitch. They know it is a battle to stay in this league and they are trying to rebuild the squad so it has players in there to keep us up, that is all we need this year is to finish above 3 teams in the championship.
Yes we may not all like the style or his interviews or all the players coming in and out, but these two guys and the other people at the club are giving everything, all they ask of us as supporters is to stay loyal, support the team and stick with them. I think we can do that can't we?
Yes we all have a moan or pass comments about a player or a tactic or a game, that is fine we are entitled to do that. However some are going too far and expect too much.
Well SE and TS you have my full support, keep making me proud to be a Miller.
have a chat over a cup of tea and a biscuit, because you need some home truths
1. You made a mistake with Halford both at CB and as captain, move him to midfield or drop him and give the captaincy to smallwood
2. Your summer recruitment has been very poor, Collins passed his best, Maddock always injured, Maguire is a striker not a winger so many more but where is your quality
3. Eric Black was a mistake
4. Raynor maybe your friend but what is he really adding and is he a championship coach
5. Your captain is criticising you for no plan B, so tactically you are struggling
6. Stop playing players out of position
7. Strikers out of form can be dropped and let them rebuild their confidence you aren't helping derbyshire
8. Stop with the excuses you are accountable end of
9. Ask yourself why JCH doesnt celebrate when he scores
Overall you seem out of your depth in the championship, accept your limitations get some help, make some changes and be honest to yourself, this is an intervention

Telling someone on Millers Banter to "sod off" is not nice, this aint MM country

90% of people post on both! it's sadly ironic that your demeaning post directs the blame at MM
Not demeaning, nor blaming. It is not demeaning to say that something is not nice when someone expressing an opinion is told to "sod off" is it? Neither is it 'blaming' to draw a comparision of what exists on one site, against a standard we have come to expect on here.
I joined MM in 2005, 10 years a regular reader but an infrequent poster, why? because of the vitriol, abuse and down right nastiness from some (not all) of the members posting on there. Personally I found it distasteful and uncalled for
I have been a member of Banter for a few months now and along with many others I am enjoying debate, arguing points, agreeing and yes, disagreeing and generally enjoying the banter in a friendly and sociable fashion. It has been a breath of fresh air and very enjoyable too, but this is the first time I have seen a reasonable and doubtless an honestly held argument, spoiled by an uncalled for rebuke. Why? Where is the need? And now the knife is out for me because I have the audacity to say so.
Please don't let this be the thin edge of the wedge
To the OP. I don't think we should settle for defeat at this time at this level. SE was doing ok. Redders has had one game. Under SE I was convinced we would stay up- convinced! Under Redders I am currently doubtful and was before his appointment . My doubt is based on the evolution I have seen steve evans teams go through and that seemed to be happening again. Redders is an unknown to me.
As to the spat, maybe it's time to shake hands? No one likes direct criticism and no one likes direct language towards them. We all lapse don't we. I remember last season I upset someone and they told me. I said I was sorry and that was the end of it. We still post and reply to each other with debate but if I ever cross their line I will apologise and seek a different way of getting my opinion heard if it's important to me. Isn't that what we all want . Never easy at times but as long as we can try to stay open to other people's feelings it can work most of the time.
