Would have liked a centre back in with some pace to play at side of Rawson, play Broadfoot, needs match fitness. Thorpe in central midfield, G Ward on the right.

I still worry about Danny Collins and see Thorpe in there in the medium term, but to be fair Collins has done OK lately and I would leave him in for now on that basis. Wide positions are still a problem. I think Redfearn likes width in a team and wide left is an issue for us. Newell is better central and Redders might get the best out of Aidy White who has got something (I think he is one of the players who have 'more than they have shown'). I would go 4,4,2 and right to left with : Camp; Buxton, Rawson, Collins, Mattock: G Ward, Smallwood, Newell, White: Derbyshire, JCH. Subs: Collin, Thorpe, Richardson, Maguire, D Ward, Andreu, Yates.
I have to say that I am with Oneaday on this. Broadfoot was terrible at the start of last season but he was being played out of position at right back where his lack of pace and limitations as a ball player were cruelly exposed. He did better towards the end of the season when he got a run at centre back, but 'better' is a relative term. He still wasn't good. He is whole-hearted and does his best, but is a decent stand-in at best. If he is one of our best two centre backs we are in bad shape.
He certainly did better at the back end of last season but we were better all round with the likes of Hunt & Lafferty playing. Put an average player in a good team and he suddenly starts to look like a world beater.
Since Rawson has come into the team, Collins has done little wrong and in my opinion is a far better player than Broadfoot.
My concern is that because of Broadfoots build he needs to playing regularly to maintain the required level. Because of this I would replace either Rawson or Collins with Thorpe should an injury occur during a match.

Not been funny but you say "Would have liked a centre back in with some pace to play at side of Rawson" and then say play Broadfoot. Isnt that just a slight contradiction ??
Im gonna join in the CB debate, myself id move heaven and earth to sign Rawson, apparantley he int part of Derby's plans and id play Thorpe along side him. I know, I know two young CB's but I think Rawson has been sound when he's played for us and Thorpe was very highly rated at Man U. Give em a go I say,
