Walsall reject approach for Smith

So says Twitter.

Deano did state though that he wasn't even on the shortlist so may just be bull.

Thank **** is what I say. Doesn't look that good when you look closely at his record.

All these approaches getting turned down and di canio turned away by us. Sounds like lots of fantasy and wishful thinking.

Even the press is at it. This front runner. That is the fave for the job. Millers target such and such and so and so for job.

Odds up and down and even steve presley still on at 20-1 tonight. Could forget about anyone around that price I guess. But no, anything could happen because it's all speculation. No one currently knows anything because the process goes on.

My impression of Tony is that he is both pragmatic and a romantic. He will have his man already firmly in his mind and nothing will stop that. He has already picked him. He already knew what he wanted before he let SE go. There is no way we have approached DS and JFH when there have been over 60 applications,   and TS already has his man in the pack. Could that be how it is?

It's a shortlist with his man in the middle order. Only a complete charismatic character will persuade tony otherwise and you can bet he has put a couple on his short list alongside clough, and redfern.

Well said, Ian.  A romantic pragmatist at the helm gives us the best of both worlds.  Don't rule out a triumphant return of the king.blankstare

"May you live in interesting times" was apparently an ancient Chinese curse.  Don't think it related to RM though.

I see Alan Stubbs is coming up quickly on the rails.  Would he really leave Hibs?

I wouldn't have Stubbs either. Hibs are only in 3rd place in a mickey mouse league where Tavernier is 2nd highest goalscorer.
