Mon ami, your visits are fleeting:  I spot you and suddenly you're gone.  Is it the time differential?  I realise broadband has not yet reached the Antipodes and dial-up is expensive but do try harder!

I am afraid it is often a time thing. 12 hours ahead at the moment so I spend a quick moment before I go to work and like now if I have a moment at work will reply. Will promise to try harder. What's with the new avatar? knight of St John??

You're excused.wink  The avatar is a fill-in while I try and come up with a WW2 aircraft that Smiler doesn't know!

Me too.  I generally preferred German planes to ours and bought dozens of Airfix from Coopers.  Ah, great days.

I don't like to admit it but I am also a bit of a wargamer.  I have hundreds of WW2 1:600 scale aircraft from a firm called Tumbling Dice.  I much prefer the German camouflage paint schemes to ours.  They also armed their fighters with 20mm cannon while we persevered for years with pea-shooter .303 machine guns.  How we won the BofB I'll never know.

I am going to dig out my dvd box set of A Piece of Cake. Great stuff.  Hey, and don't forget the Hurricane.

I've been reading this blog which seems up your street and is very highly regarded by some leading WW2 academics.  Lots of articles and reviews etc.
