I'm utterly delighted. The man's an odious ****k & I never wanted him near my football club in the first place. Yeah, he did us a decent job in the lower leagues, but with the playing budget he had, so he should. I won't miss his scattergun transfer policy, his embarrassing interview technique, his even more embarrassing touchline antics & his hoofball style of play. Our standing throughout English football has gone up a notch just by todays actions.

Or getting us to the Championship and keeping us there.

I might not have put it quite like Brad did but essentially I agree with most of what he said. I want to be proud of my club and with Evans in charge I never was - even when we were winning fairly regularly. He left Boston in the lurch, and a lot of people think Crawley are now paying for the short term success he had there. He builds nothing. He produces instant results if backed but creates no sustainable foundation. There is no denying he got us results, but for the good of the club (and for his own good as he can sell his track record elsewhere - I don't think he will be out of work long) he may have gone just in time.
Whatever you think of Evans he put little old Rotherham on the football map. Do you seriously believe without him we would get more than a passing mention? He was a BIG character with BIG opinions and the journo's loved him for it. His time here has given me some of the very best memories of my Millers supporting life and for that I am grateful. You can't go through life despising people I don't know that well - it's not healthy.

Sorry mate, I thought forums like this were supposed to be about opinions. I'd keep your opinions about other forum members to yourself if I were you, otherwise ............................
Not sure if your post was in response to mine S8 but just in case and just for the record I don't despise many people if any, and certainly not Steve Evans. When you look at his history though you have to wonder whether he is someone you would want at the top in your club - and that's before you get onto things like transfer policy, touch line antics, one eyed assessments and so on. I would rather us not be in the spotlight than have him in it as the face of RUFC.

Carefull what you wish for in this life Brad , you just might end up with another Andy Scott

No not specifically aimed at you smiler. But I don't get the triumphalism from some at Steve's leaving, as Luvpud states - be careful what you wish for. I've also seen some pretty nasty comments about Evans on twitter, facebook and MM from people who only know his touchline persona and not the man personally - I just don't get it.
We all know that Evans is a character, love him or hate him you can't deny what he has done for this club over three years. He has drive, is a motivator, a winner who hates to lose and takes it personally when we do. A club like Rotherham needs that sort of manager to compete at this level. We can't do it on finance alone so we have to do it on sheer will and determination to give us that bit extra that is the difference between success and failure and Evans has that and it is a key part of our success.
Personally, I will remember the Evans era with great affection, he has provided some unforgettable days and put little old Rotherham back on the map. You may not like the man (that's your choice) but you should at least respect his achievements and have a degree of respect.
I personally find it hard to respect him over much S8. I think his track record excluding results on the pitch makes that difficult, and I simply don't like his managerial style. I do however acknowledge the football results he has achieved and never actually called for his dismissal as I thought those results would buy him a bit of time. I was at Preston, Wembley etc and was jumping around with everyone else. I don't wish the man any harm. So I thank him for his results and wish him well but don't feel in any way sorry he is leaving. The bile that some people think it is acceptable to spout where football is concerned is, I agree, bang out of order. Sadly it is a phenomenon we see in all walks of modern life.

Bit weird that, a veiled threat to someone who pulled you up over abusing someone on a message board, about abusing yourself, priceless that, everyone knows your opinion on SE, but calling him names on a message board then hiding behind 'your opinion' is childish at best.
I toyed with the idea of leaving this message board when I viewed the contributions of Brad the Miller and Glass Half Full. Odious comments and veiled threats in relation to other posters is exactly why I stopped posting on Millersmad some time ago. This site is about banter lads and I understand that all posters have a right to their opinions. Looking at previous posts from both of you I realised that you are both passionate Miller's and probably got a bit carried away in the heat of the moment. Time to agree to disagree lads in the nicest possible way. The important thing is that we are all Miller's, onwards and upwards together lads. Up the Miller's.

I agree towd codger. The site IS about banter & opinions & I share the blame for some comments being a bit "near the knuckle" as they say. I'd like to draw a line under the past few weeks & move on. I apologise & lets get behind the new guy whoever he is!!!

Yep I agree, I have been a bit wound up lately, and got a bit excited with the last 2 results, and should have not reacted as I did to Brads post.
