You have played footie Heman; one is always down a few percent after a defeat and it doesn't take as much to further undermine it next time out.
Our own millers have gone from zeros to hero's and no doubt will complete the cycle a few times more.
I do think though that if you come up against inferior opposition you tend to beat them all things being equal. So, how much does a previous defeat impact on that?
If you look at the results from last season we lost to plenty of teams who had just got beat too.
However:
we also beat wolves after they beat Norwich last season.
we beat Millwall after they had drawn the previous week.
We beat leeds after they had drawn the previous week.
we thumped Bolton after they had won away at wednesday the previous week.
we beat IPSWICH after they had drawn the previous week.
They were 5 examples of us beating teams after they had been beat the week before.
seems fairly arbitrary perhaps?
