Jose And Steve; a comparison

Interesting interaction on this video btw Jose and reporter.

Interestingly, the reporter suffers from what many fans argue from-false pretence.

However, its an important point that is inferred, which is, most managers dont get beyond a third season (the huge majority in fact).

Jose, goes on to say that this is indeed uncharted territory. This is a very interesting response indeed.

The one conclusion that jumps out at me:

How can we Judge any manager over a period when so many fail to make it in terms of continued real progress. How man managers can actually say , my 3rd was better than my 2nd, and my 4th better than my 3rd, etc.

Its interesting, no!

Is the only answer to clear the deck each time progress isnt made, and bring in another manager who may be worst than the departing one, and even if he is not, all we can look forward to is a season or two's improvement before the next cycle of criticism and poor results.

One caveat, the idea of a youth policy is only valid if you can point to a team and manager that has year on year improvement with such a policy and compared to all the failures with that policy.
