John Norris is closing in on a remarkable Millers achievement. Pleasure to interview such a great bloke.

Well done zippy. Is this oneupmanship because your dad could talk to animals?

He is a legend is zip, will be remembered for a long time!

Not sure about 'feeling more at home at grounds like Exeter', its a friggin dump! - Now if he said Burnden Park, my absolute fave of true old footy grounds I'd agree!

Brighton away for the 1000 is fitting, yes its about as far as you can get, but the Amex is a wonderful stadium, be it hell to get in and out of - well done 😊

First of all congratulations in advance John for a superb achievement. You're a top bloke, Millers fan first & foremost but a guy with the love of football coursing through his veins. I have extreme opinions but John tolerates me bless him.
Also to Paul Davis, a great piece, very well written & received.
I hope RUFC does something for John to commemorate this marvellous achievement, he so deserves it!!

Took me a couple of minutes to work this one out Heman.

I was thinking, what has Dr Doolittle got to do with my Dad.

Then Animal Magic dawned on me......told you i was thick confuseconfuse

Cheers Brad, yes we are poles apart in our opinions sometimes but life would be boring if we all shared the same views.

Thanks for the kind words pal......just 3 points will do for me.

Agree with the sentiments on Paul Davis.....Les Payne was always going to be one hell of an act to follow, but Paul's reports are top notch reading material and a smashing fella to talk to as well.

My Brother's a lifelong Barnsley fan and being 9 years his younger i followed his influence and watched them from 79 to 85....i packed in when i was 21 for a few reasons, but mostly because the enjoyment had totally gone out of it for me and i was basically going just for the sake of it.

Rotherham United came into my life almost by accident when i was 24 and will be with me till the day i die (and beyond, i'm gonna haunt whoever gets my seat at NYS)....guaranteed.

Thanks to everybody for the kind words....UTM

Indeed john.

Aren't we all.

I'll admit to really wanting a leeds full kit as a nipper-sock tag numbers n all.

What a feeling it was to be dressed in that crisp spotless white from head to toe...but, something else was in store that very first time I heard the roar from millmoor and stood outside waiting for big red gates to open so I could have a glimpse ; a new world was born in my senses and it gradually spread all over.

Good article and a great subject.

Zippy is probably the most humble and likeable person on either site.

He did get lucky that Paul pulled the article about myself after I submitted the photo!..but an interesting piece all the same.

What a brilliant achievement to reach 1,000 games without missing a single match, WOW!!!

Good luck for Tuesday John and I'm glad to read that the club have invited you to be their guest at the game mate, it's the least you deserve.

Enjoy the day pal.

Just thinking about you being a "guest" John, and wondering, will you be travelling down with the team on the team coach?

If so, it will be a special experience mate. Be sure to take your camera with you and get some good photos to share with us all.

Once again, enjoy the experience pal, you deserve it.   biggrin

Thanks Tony K....I'm guest at the game, but i'll be on the Colin Campbell coach as normal...although a friend who is stopping down the night has offered me a spare place in his car as they will be arriving around 3.30.....much earlier than the coach to make sure i'm there in time for the pre-match meal and everything....then i'll go back on the CC Coach.....i'm letting him know at the weekend.

Will certainly be taking my camera....the guest thing is way out of my comfort zone....i'm much more at ease on the away end getting Pukka Pie crumbs all over myself, and sipping Bovril, but at the same time i'm extremely grateful to the Club for giving me this chance, and i suppose once the nerves have settled i'll enjoy it.....even if i am wearing a tie for the first time in 20 years.
