He (Evans) has form though doesn't he - with Crawley - coming to us when it might seem more obvious to stay.

I agree that if he 'asks' to go that would break the 'love-in' and that would be that.

TS will want compensation but Peterborough, despite what they said about nor paying a fee, would do so if they want him.

I agree with what others have said that if he wants to go , now is his chance. Equally if approached and he says he wants to stay here, we must not question his loyalty again.

So 2 scenarios as I see them:

- Peterborough make an approach - depends mainly on Evans, as Peterborough will do the financials if he wants to go...
- We lose next 4 games - depends on TS not Evans.

Lets see what tomorrow brings Scenario 1 he goes. Who would have to replace him because raynor will follow black is another issue I think no matter what grey would be a great coach as he is a respected coach and motivator Ideally we would need a manager who would come with three coaches defensive attacking and midfield with the manager providing the tactics linking the three together. Having 3 coaches would also give more freedom to the leaders on the pitch to organise the players in playing situations Something i feel our players arent allowed to do because of micro management from our current manager Scenario 2 Evans stays and the changes he has made learning from his mistakes bring back the fighting spirit and with frecks and smallwood the engine running the team. And we start to gain points. With maguire derbyshire and jch scoring with goals from midfield. Scenario 3 He hasnt learned from his mistakes so loses his job see scenario 1

Odds are shortening with the bookies. Now 6/4 from 3/1.

I have been thinking about Ian's earlier post in this thread about the things he admires about Steve Evans and the different traits that we admire in others. Like Ian I admire SE's passion although I think that passion needs to be controlled and channelled for it to produce the best outcomes and I wonder if Steve Evans' passion sometimes clouds his judgment. I certainly respect the results that he has achieved. Loyalty is important. I have said in other posts that I think his results to date will get SE more time to turn things round than might have been afforded to others because I suspect that TS values loyalty highly. Other character traits I admire in any leader are bravery, hard work and integrity. Very few have them all. That is what makes good leaders so special.

Yes and the Peterborough Telegraph carries a "planted" article urging the club to get Evans.  Return of Ronnie?

Football has passed RM by, we need someone who has been coached the modern ways, as in pro license pathway. JFH I think has earned a shot but do we stay safe and go with Gray? A manager on the rise versus lets face it what will be very dull but efficient and safe football

It's all speculation at the minute RK but the Evans to Peterborough thing seems to be getting a bit of traction. It is a bit early to start talking about our next manager while we still have one, but whenever the time comes it won't be Ronnie. He is a hero - best he stays one.

I Hope he is allowed to talk to "The Posh" we can then get our ex player managing Grimsby Town or Sam Allyrdice. (can't afford)
Take your pick guys n gals.
UTM

You would take a manager who is currently managing in the 5th tier of English Football and has so far failed to get Grimsby out of the leage in 4 (i think) attempts? Seriously? Over a manager with 3 successful years in a row (inc. 2 promotions)?

As for the Sam Allardyce comment - head > brickwall.

I happen to know a bit about The Mariners and their set up.

Mark my words, their manager has his hands, legs and all their wallets tied behind their backs.

A new stadium has been on and off for a number of years.............

Yes EVO has done us proud but ask yourself at what cost.

Most of our players are journeymen/loanees.  I truly hope there is better to come, but I fear he has reached his level.  (yes I hope I'm wrong)

Sorry tivolimAN--43 - but you are suggesting a manager with zero success in the football league who currently manages a team in the 5th tier of English football.

To me - thats laughable.

We have been here before with Evans and i agree with Davidedin - the 2 scenarios IMO are spot on.

Im going to be very surprised if this rumour has ANY truth whatsoever.

But, its an interesting hypothetical to consider.

Bottom line for me is always what the individual wants.

If any manager wants to go then its better if he does.

What was interesting for me was the actual consideration; How much do I believe SE is the main factor in our success (aligned with Tony and the board).

I didn't say as manager.  RM is in for DOF with a top young coach working alongside him.  You read it here first.

Rumors flying about , just been told on good authority (think its come through on widgi board ) SE got five games to sort it , and he wants to talk to posh let him go his heart must not be in it, only condition TS wants to put in he's got to take Raynor, this new defensive coach not forgetting his chief scout think it's his brother? (thats b******g funny) not forgetting Humpty and Dumpty at the back because he wont rush back to take any player's he's signed lately , but even after saying this he's a good manager for the Millers and dont believe these rumours

Tremendous post Len! Don't you rate the back room staff?  These things tend to move quickly if they are going to happen. We will soon see.

Approach by all means but unless TS has had a change of heart in the last week it will be rebuffed.

The Posh chairman is either very annoying after being knocked back recently , or, he has been given a signal.

He comes across a bit unstable and I wouldn't take the posh job at present even if he were a mate.
