Or needs divine inspiration - c'mon Kempo this guy should give up being a footballer, he's not even L2 material, how on earth he got through the academies on ability alone is becoming the 8th wonder of the world. When you then concede that we pay him 5 grand a week, it would make anyone spit their tea and laugh their head off! (but I concede that is down to the fools that employ him).
Kempo - best not to use the words Halford and cross in the same sentence. It usually ends with a goal for the opposition. On a serious note, he has had a good career in the top leagues with some good clubs but this makes his performances for us all the more puzzling. He isn't past it age wise but he just looks like (to coin a phrase that we all understand) he has 'gone'.
Doesn't make sense to dismiss him after so few games.
He has played for England under 20s, played in the Premiership, clubs have paid several million pounds in transfer fees yet people on here say he is rubbish.
Something doesn't add up and I'm keeping my powder dry at present...let's see on this one.
Fair enough Kempo. Players are human. They have personal issues and frailties like everyone else. He may need time to settle and perhaps, as you suggest, there may be other issues in his case that we don't know about. He is however a highly paid professional and there is nothing about his performances so far that is in keeping with the pedigree that you allude to. Would you agree? And assuming that you do agree - as you surely must - how long would you give him (or any other player) before dropping him if he continues in the same vein?
I hate to be so self promoting but I'm only human.
How many vilified broadfoot, while I saw something in him and promoted him in quite a few threads. Now he is named several times as our saviour in waiting.
I remember many a girl I swore I hated only to find myself irresistibly in love with a few weeks later.
Be careful chaps. Halford might be just such a girl.
