TS needs to step in and have a talk with Steve about

His touch line antics.

Up to recent times, I must admit that I have found it entertaining but my views have changed.

His behaviour has actually got worse this season and observing the reactions of players then I conclude that the new recruits are less than impressed.

Abusing officials constantly is unacceptable behaviour by any standards and is counter productive.

Abusing the fourth official is totally pointless as well as being pretty embarrassing to listen to...I mean, what is the fourth official going to do about any decision?

Swearing and shouting at our players every second of the game is pathetic and destroys any relationship between player and manager and would not be acceptable in any other industry..rightly so.

How can the players concentrate and turn on their footballing blame when every move is 'instructed'

Not everyone will notice but opposing players look towards our bench and laugh at Raynor and Evans as they shout their disgraceful stuff.

The ultimate responsibility lies with TS and for the good name of the club we need to behave with a little more dignity

We are supposed to be a family club so we should behave accordingly.

Personally I have no problem with Steve as a manager generally as results speak for themselves but his behaviour needs to change.

Many fans clearly feel the same and now is the time for the Chairman to step in and exert some authority.

If he does nothing then he is the one to blame as much as Evans and Raynor.

Kempo there are other things that need to be addressed.

For example  the 'hungry horse' episode on Youtube RUFC is embarrassing.

Just had a look and I agree.

I gave TS some advice when he first arrived about players attending matches should be smartly dressed preferably in suits and to be fair he took my advice and had a word.

Since then standards have dropped and sitting in a rather downmarket chain pub/ restaurant exhibiting gluttony is not good for our image.

I would also like to hear stories of Steve going round for tea at the Chairman's house and dining in fine dining establishments as opposed to swigging a few beers at The Sheppey!

Come on Steve and Raynor, you get a middle class salary, drive around in a Bentley so lets up the other standards a bit.

Thanks for the heads up re The Hungry Horse affair IBS...shocking!

The fact is that the hairdryer treatment is old school and doesn't work on experienced players. If we fielded a youth team it might work.

Effing and jeffing just shows you up as a crass imbecile who cannot calculate the next tactic using rational thinking.

Kempo, unlike some at RUFC, I think we both ought to accept a degree of responsibility for the decline in standards.

A few years ago both of us made a determined effort to improve standards by exposing the players and fans poor dress-code, eating habits and behaviour. Although there were, inevitably, a few among the lower orders who didn't have the character to accept our well intentioned advice, there was , I am happy to say, a remarkable improvement in the aforementioned areas.

Maybe since then you and I have not been as vigilant as we once were and our rebukes not firm or regular enough?. As well you know, left to their own devices the lower orders will soon slide back to KFC for a bucket meal, go on a shoplifting spree in Primark and start breeding pitbulls.

After the shocking "hungry horse" affair, maybe we should make our posts and advice on these matters more frequent?

I suggest we start with Raynor. A middle-aged man in poor shape, with a  belly protruding over his football shorts, pacing up and down the touchline, simply isn't good enough. He shouldn't be allowed to wear any kind of sports wear at all.

I agree IBS that we have taken our foot off the pedal re these issues.

As you say Tony thankfully implemented our ideas and we sat back enjoying the two promotions but since then things have gone downhill.

My old Professor once rebuked me on a gynae ward round for wearing my tie too casual and too long..he said 'Kempo my boy, a slovenly appearance leads to a slovenly mind and I dread to think where that tie may end up on this ward!'

It was a major learning point for me and since then I have always been a promoter of the values of a good appearance.

I agree re Raynor and of course the same applies to Steve.

We dont want to get too personal of course but those two getting into shape and smartening up could go along way to turning things around.

Maybe you could put one of your calls into Radio Sheffield as I hear Steve is an avid listener.

Will do Kempo.

I think we should draw a line under the "hungry horse" scandal once and for all.

Somehow I can't imagine Roberto Mancini visiting a pub chain restaurant, never mind boasting about eating his own body weight in onion rings!

Its not just the swearing though, Evans and Raynor are trying to play the game for the team on the pitch from the dug out ! Against FFC the young lad Grant Ward tried to pull wide out on our right when we had a dead ball play. Evans imeadiatley gobbed at him to get in the middle with the other 19 outfield players. Why oh why oh why do the 2 (or 3 if you count Black the bringer of football death) of them coach the side through the week, make a plan and execute it on the pitch. As a previous poster said its like an old Sunday league coach trying to relive his playing days nonono

I'm glad its gone (I hope)

As an FA qualified youth coach, and I'm sure others will attest to this, the course revolves massively around equal opportunities, behaviours, good practises for development and OTT sportsmanship. My lads all line up at u10 and shake hands before and after a game, and at all times do we have to show respect for the referee and the often wrong decisions (even I make them against my own team!). 99% of the time all age groups up to u13s as that's our eldest behave impeccably. You then take your boy to a match and see and hear nothing but the opposite, from 'professionals' who have far higher rank up the food chain. I go to 5 a side and see 16-19yr olds berating a 70yr old qualified referee, a priest and one of the nicest blokes you'd meet. It really makes me sick. I can only deduce something happens at the last 2yrs or so before mens football that totally undoes everything youth coaches have tried to instil into our players and its about time the FA got to the bottom of it. Evans antics put a stain on this football club, not all was roses. I was disgusted by how he conduct himself sometimes, on the wage and his experience he should be able to cork it and channel it so its productive - I almost feel sorry for those who employ him, although it will be their own fault as they should know what to expect. A shirt and tie changes nothing.

That's a good post Exeter.

I have been entertained by Evans in an odd way and of course enjoyed our rise under him but the dark cloud has been there.

After consideration,I conclude that this is the best for the club.

It's a proud club with impeccable Chairmanship and we will be all the better for the exit of Evans.

Many of the players will be singing the Crawley song today.?.Lets all sing now the fat mans gone Oh let's twist again!

Absolutely, if you think we turned around 88 players, I'd bet there were 400 we 'didn't get over the line', and I'll also stick my neck out to a significant number of those did some digging and deduced they'd rather sit in the reserves than play for Evans, even on loan.

Yes he got us here, but I think it's no more than should have been expected with the backing and infrastructure we have. It speaks volumes actually how many people see there are lots of positives to be gained from him and Raynor walking.
