Are young students under more pressure these days?

With regard to getting exam grades.

I am unsure...educational standards don't seem that great looking at school leavers generally yet I hear that they get lots of homework feel stressed and are under much more pressure twere some of us were.

The high grades achieved seem a bit false to me and I say this with respect for the hard work put in.

Is it tougher these days?

Are our kids in the UK well educated or poorly so?

Our teachers?.....I sort of feel that their standards have fallen compared to my time in the seventies

Whats the truth of these matters?

I find it difficult to fathom, 16yr olds can't be taught to see the logic, and complete this question. Bad teaching or dumb ass students who's attention span is limited to Minecraft and Call of Duty?

they are trained to pass an exam, not educated.

To educate is sometimes not about the classroom, its about the practical, and applied knowledge is sometimes the best.

Think of the South Koreans and their children, they stay late and actually enjoy because they know its for the benefit of the country, they also have national service, which to me needs to be reinstalled here.
