Last night it was evident all around me, the ugly desire for instant gratification among the Godless Millers fans.
Like big babies who can't wait more than 30 seconds for their mammy's teet, they kick up an all mighty tantrum, wailing, red-faced for instant success.
Being a member of the Christian faith I have been brought up to believe that patience is a virtue and so I have a much more sober perspective of last nights proceedings.
I don't believe that my selfish pursuit of pleasure takes precedent over the long term good of RUFC.
I can forego the fleshly desire of wanting to celebrate in an orgiastic manner, a goal or victory, for the longer term benefits of building a squad which can hold their own in the championship for years.
Among my fellow Christians who support the Millers, I see trust in the management team, patience with the squad- building and the new look team and also encouragement and support being offered to players who are out of form.
Contract this with the puerile, foot stamping, whinging, heathen men-babies, crying all around me in the West Stand last night.
It seems to me that the, 'me first' atheism of may of our supporters has blinded them to the incredible success we have enjoyed in recent years.
Grow up and show some patience, encouragement and gratitude for our team

On a point of clarification. Are we talking about the squad built in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 or the one Steve Evans is no doubt already working on for 2016?
As an atheist I can wait forever for Evans to guess it right but as for the two Zoroastrians sitting in front of me on Tuesday? They seemed ready to pop long before the final whistle.
No, no, no. My two pieces on The Tempest and multis are coming to fruition faster than even I envisaged. This guy's moronic generalisations and constant slagging of fellow Millers, believers in evolution and anyone not subscribing to his puerile religiosity is one of the main reasons MM became a no-go zone for me. Banter is about to go downhill very, very fast.
Calm ridge, everyone is allowed an opinion. Anyone who argues against evolution from an evidenced based stand point is on very shaky ground. Though I don't always agree with him I quite like a lot of IBS's posts. The price of having a popular board is an inevitable mix of opinions.
IBS is of course on a bit of a fishing expedition and inevitably he has got a couple of bites. But here go's , in response to Sickly Child. Remember Evolution is just a theory not a scientific fact. Creationism is also a theory not a proven fact, so Christians like IBS and myself have a right to choose which path we should follow. What we don't have a right to do is to try to impose our views on others on a football message board. I am prepared to debate the issue with anyone who is interested but not on Miller's Banter. Sorry IBS it is not appropriate.
Of course patience is a virtue but in so being are we likely to miss the boat ? Strike while the iron is hot and risk being made a fool, venturing where angels fear to tread. Then again, perhaps we ought not to cast the first stone toward IBS as he who cast bread upon the waters.........as they say
If we all have this attitude then this site will thrive.
A rapid influx of members will bring about new challenges but this site was not meant to be an exclusive club for the chosen few.
Embrace the success.
My best advice if you don't like a particular poster is to sit on your hands and practice a shoulder shrug, unilateral or bilateral with or without a sardonic smile.

Completely agree with your first and last sentences towd. IBS has without a doubt brought his deep sea trawler over from the mad site
The only thing possibly inappropriate is the post not being in the off topic section which is because IBS is new to the site and finding his feet.
In what way is discussing religion or evolutionary theory inappropriate?
I scratch my head sometimes.
You may not want to discuss it for personal reasons but inappropriate?.....why?

Hi Kempo, I find this inappropriate as this is a forum to discuss all things RUFC, not a place to discuss other fans religious beliefs and morality. As for IBS not understanding OT, he has been posting on MM for a while that site has the same set up.
I consider this to be a football topic. As any serious RUFC supporter knows, there is a god and he manages the club, whoever he is. The fact that our current manager and his disciples are on a short term tactical sabbatical does not detract from the devine status attached the position. All we need now are a couple of miracles (don't care if they're evolutionary, creationary or pure joss) and we'll be well on our way and able to talk about purer footballing matters.
Let's face it people, whichever opinion you have on atheism/religion, it has no place on the football board, and the OP is being at the very least cheeky in posting it, he knows what he's doing, and lkes to push the boundaries, in my mind, a policy of not allowing anything of this type should be adopted, and rigorously policed, that way, no grey areas can be exploited in such a way......bin it to O/T Ex.
