we need to go abroad for a striker and central midfielder. They interviewed the watford chairman on friday on talksport, he was asked about why they didn't buy british players, he said because players of equal quality are half price abroad. Leicester have brought in the top international goal scorer for £7m whilst Man city wasted £49m on sterling. The point being if we are short on money we should try the wider foreign markets to scout for a couple of bargains rather than rely on other teams kids and out of contract championship players.
I don't get why the market for our own home grown talent is so inflated. Maybe UK agents are to blame?, or they know they can as most clubs don't have the resources to scout abroad? Either way its a scandal.

I've never seen a convincing explanation either. I certainly don't rate Sterling at anything like £49m.
what is really annoying is you don't need scouts travelling the world at a big cost. The football world uses networks of agents, scouts and online statistics systems to identify potential players, only then do you need to send someone to see them play. It is lazy of a club like Rotherham to not look wider a field
I agree with all the above.
What's happened to our own system of growing younger players? The kids of today seem to prefer their computers.
Bet Vardy at Leicester is now pleased about his background
Well done that lad.
