Cast your mind back to the heady days of Ronnie, Division1/Championship years,
1st Season 01/02- we scraped thru on GD. 49 points and we didnt get a win in the league until the 5th October against Grimsby Town
2nd Season 02/03 - yes won 6 nil at Millwall first match, and had a great opening run of fixtures went unbeaten in the league until the 14th September - finished 15th
3rd Season 03/04 - Won one against West Ham and then didnt get another win until the 30th September aginst Stoke beating them 3 nil. Stoke was our 10th League match, and we had shipped 17 goals for 3 goals all scored by Byfield. but we finishd 17th.
So yes, we have shipped 6 goals, but Rome wasnt built in a day (sorry Ridgeway) but lets not lose sight of the fact we are an extremely small fish in a large pond.
We cannot pay big wages, so we will always attract the journeymen of football, the cast-offs from the big clubs, and SE has a knack of getting the best from them, or your out.
Most of our players are on short contracts, Maguire is only on a one year contract, which tells me his time here is his shop window for bigger things.
Loans can be shipped back, no cost to us, its where we are at unfortunately, and remember we have always been a selling club.
So dont despair, its never been easy following the Millers, we have a good team at the top, it all takes time, Patience my fellow millers.
Keep the Faith, UTM

Apology accepted. I used to live in Worcester and my brother still does. Often had lunch in the cathedral tea room before popping down to the crypt to pay my respects to King John. Used to drink in a pub called something like the Pope Iron?
Its when the emotion gets involved that colours our view of things, I'm just as bad. I'm old enough to remember the Millers in the early 60's when we were a permanent fixture in what was then the old 2nd Division, I took a beer crate to stand on and I still have my home make rattle. Unfortunately we've been up and down like a brides nightie and been on the brink of extinction a few times since.
In those happy days it took hard work, effort and skill to compete, these days its all that plus cart loads of dosh. As a club we missed the boat years ago and was probably the last club to play league football in a 1940's/50's ground.
Given all that, its remarkable we are where we are, and as such, as fans we seem to be always looking over our shoulders with some trepidation and that from here on in the only way is backwards, it seems to be a given that it will all end in tears.......as usual. The psyche of a Miller eh ?.
It took heck of a lot to get here and the prudence shown is wise and understandable. Having said that, for me it would seem a dreadful dereliction of care within the club if for the sake of 'aporth of tar' we slid back down. This is where canny dealing in the recruitment, retention and man management comes into play, but I havent seen any of that particular a***en last season and the jury it out so far this. This is where the emotion kicks in, we want the success to last to build a reliable Championship side, do we take a chance should we take a risk and push the boat out ?
I'm undecided. SE has so far delivered in his particular manner, but it does leave me feeling fraught and anxious before and during every game, its enough to take up smoking again and getting a pacemaker fitted, crazy.... its only a game. Even though I've been a Miller for 55 years, I'm never that confident that now we're with the big boys the present system of recruitment and retention is enough see us through. Time will tell.
