Hello there, just interested in some of your thoughts ahead of the game on tuesday.
Having picked up 4 points so far, without conceding a goal, our fans will be fairly confident ahead of this one. However, personally I can't see you losing 3 straight games, so I'm not sure.
Are you confident, and what do you think the result will be?
What I respect about PNE is their playing style. 2 seasons ago I thought they were easily the strongest team in the league. However, perhaps Grayson was slightly too organised at times and the team lacked the cutting edge to get you over the line.
I expect you will still be very, very organised and solid. Of course, you developed more of a goal threat last season and retained the excellent shape of the team.
What you will be coming up against is a newly assembled team. I would venture you have caught us at our most vulnerable but that being said we are potentially a better side than last season.
I'd go for a 0-0.
Enjoy your season.
Saw you guys at MK. While MK were utter dire, they will go down if they keep that up btw, your lot looked like us last season, compact and difficult to break down. Of course that comes at a price of scoring goals and that will be your problem, I don't think Garner & Keane are your answer.
There's nowt like a good owd moan from time to time Magic, and Brad seems to have perfected it lately.
Tony, you are the first person on either board to realise the therapeutic role of the good moan. I had one on here at 5.15 PM yesterday and woke up feeling much happier. Sunderland fans seem happy to say they are doomed already so why can't we?
On the comments regarding playing style - yes, we tend to be well organised, and tough to break down in a 3-5-2, and then hit teams on the break, particularly away from home.
Jermaine Beckford could be back from injury and make the bench on tuesday, which is ideal as his in behind really suit the countering style of play. Obviously Garner and Will Keane are both excellent forwards, but we lose that bit of pace with Beckford.
What I have noticed watching your highlights is your goalkeeper seems a bit suspect. Will he be playing?

In view of PNE's notorious negativity we shall probably dispense with a goalkeeper and play 11 outfield players. Evans is a master tactician and I pity you lads.
PNE are a decent size club for this division but will never be top 6 on that basis alone.
If the Millers could grow a fan base Id be over the moon. Hopefully, we can get at least as big if we stay here for a few more seasons...id settle for 11k home fans to be honest.
Yes, he is somewhat suspect. SE has stated post Forest that he will be playing Tuesday.
Just get your guys to put a few balls into the area to test him. We are especially weak defensively at present.
However, we had lots of players out of position at home to MK dons and Hopefully SE will start with a back 4 or a 4-1-4-1 kinda thing-you know what I mean-not too weak but not too wasteful.
Do remember that SE has fared well against Grayson, so thats always something to take into account.

Hi, STC.
To answer your question we will have Derbyshire up front for the first twenty minutes with two missed chances.
We won't have a winger running down either flank whipping in any dangerous crosses into the six yard box. We don't do whipping in that kind of cross very often. So, instead we will be playing the long ball into your half which your defence will mop up with ease and proceed to play it through to a holding midfielder. The latter will spread the ball to either wing. Your wingers will whip in cross after cross low and hard. Those crosses won't lead to a goal though.
The game will look as though it's heading for a stalemate.
But no, there will be three minutes added on after 90 minutes. Joe Newell will run thirty yards and make a pinpoint pass to
Bowery who will score past your goalkeeper with ease. Game over.
First half was a little bit dull, second half livened up a bit. Thought a draw was a fair result.
Thought we were solid enough but didn't keep the ball well enough on numerous occasions. Garner didn't get much of a sniff and we missed Beckford's pace in behind.
A few observations on your team, in my view :
- Your keeper looks nervy and awful when put under pressure. I'm disappointed we didn't test him more. Whenever I've seen your other GK Adam Colin he looks more assured than your current number 1!
- You looked a very hard working team, but just lacked that finally bit of quality in the final third to score 1/2 goals.
- I think you'll stay up fairly comfortably if you can defend like that most games and add 1/2 quality attacking players to your squad.
All the best except for when we face you at Deepdale!
