I think it's refreshing to see some ambition. When have we had that at Rotherham in the past at Chairman and Board of Directors level?
It's not misplaced soundbites for the fans' benefit, either. They both have their feet on the ground. We're favourites to go down for a reason, but other clubs such as Bournemouth, Wigan and Blackpool (the former two certainly smaller clubs than the Millers and the latter on a par in my opinion) have proved that it's not always the biggest budget that wins the ticket to the promised land.
Fine, those clubs mentioned all invested significantly more, but with FFP, even the bigger clubs will have to reign their spending in (although appreciate it's all relative), but if we can stay in this division once more and stabilise, we might shock plenty of people in a few years.
The key for me in this interview is the complete lack of fear. That's a partnership right there that is used to winning. There was no hesitation in terms of declaration of ambition to reach the top flight. There was no trying to keep supporters' feet on the ground.
It was interesting (as Worcester says) Stewart mentioning "doubling it" with respect to ground expansion. I wonder if the plans take us up to a 25k capacity, rather than the much talked about 16k and 20k. Though 16k would do just fine... for now.
Long may the feel-good factor continue at the club.
