No hope

I'm sorry but that's how I see it. When the likes of Bristol City are putting in 2 + million pound bids for players what hope do we have. The fact is we have finances so limited that we simply can't compete. Last season we were on the crest of a wave caught in the tide of two promotions, but with the promotion team now well and truly disbanded I fear the tide will retreat back to the sea. Our three signings (all of which their previous clubs didn't want) aren't that bad BUT we have no quality no cutting edge. I really was hoping for 2-3 quality players, alter the pay structure have 5 less squad players and distribute their wages. But there is no sign of this. We have to see who can't get a club, who is willing to come to us rather than be unemployed, who is willing to be at the bottom of the division pay structure. But we have what we have and its relegation I fear. It appears that even the signings we should have made last week are still holding out hopeing for a better offer. Rant over.

Derbyshire and ledesma got plenty of quality and so has smallwood and ward. Frecks is good enough too. By all accounts 2 out of the other 3 have vast experience at this level. That's 7 with championship quality. Green I personally like still as well but I know some doubt him at his age.

We ain't doing bad.

I won't make any rash predictions Fliker but I think we will be all right this season. I trust Steve to bring in three or four other decent signings. And I believe he learned a lot of lessons tactically last season which should see us have a better season this time around. Keep the faith mate.

You'll have to stop fretting, Fliker. The Millers will do much better this coming season.

I think its a great move for all parties re. Thorpe &I wish more 21 / 22yr olds would adopt his apparent philosophy. In the long term surely its better at his age to go & play for a team which potentially he could play 5-10yrs for, or at least will get a truck load of games and if he realises his potential will put him in the shop window for PL in a couple of years. That's far better than getting a short term extra couple of grand a week rotting to oblivion in someone's reserves and ending up in L1 or L2.

Cracking signing both in a football & business sense, I've knocked SE PR &PD probably more than most, but for this I applaud them & hopefully there's more to follow. I'm sick of the 1 season quick fixes, these types of player are the way forward
