FAO Kempo advice please

If you can! Appealing to your expertise again. So after falling at football again doin knee and breaking clavicle after an MRI it revealed a corner ligament unroot which was anchored back on Wed, bit of rest & recoup then an ACL restructuring beginning of Aug. My question is this as matron thought I was cookoo. Every time I go to sleep and only then do I get spasms right at the injury sight. Had it 3 weeks ago when I did it but it subsided but has come back with a vengeance following surgery. Its a very sudden 1 time sharp spasm that feels like a pulling enough to jolt you awake. I have to put my good leg over splintered one to stop it flailing its the only way to sleep - what the hell is this & will it bog off! Thanks as always (BTW you'll be pleased to know my 5 a side career here endeth!)

You'll laugh at me when I tell you to eat 2 bananas a day to stop it.

It's the best advice he's got. He'd be a fool to ignore it.

I eat 3-4 bananas a day and my ACL hasn't  come back.

Well I regularly eat bananas and never experienced anything like that so must be something in it.

Sorry to hear you had such an injury.

Hopefully your muscle spasms have now settled.....Quite common after an injury or when your limb is inactive and maybe rests in an unusual position.

Certainly sounds like simple but painful muscle spasms and should resolve spontaneously without treatment or bananas!

Potassium in bananas reduce muscle spasms.

Yeh...I understand the theory behind your post Heman but could not find any clinical data to support your idea that they actually reduce spasms.

I suspect that a double blind trial would be difficult as it would be fairly obvious to all participants whether they are in the banana group or not!

Personally I would prefer to await spontaneous resolution but no harm done by eating a banana or two!

If it's not on the BMA site it's as reputable as reiki.
