Yes it does Steve, if we are serious about maintaining our championship status next year we need to recruit championship quality players as permanent signings. Using the loan system is fine short term but is very hit (Rawson, Hunt, Lafferty, Lawrence, Wooton, Ladesma) and miss (Fryers, Sammon, Barmby, Wilson, Taylor, Swift) and just as some start to make an impact they disappear again.

While the loan market has been a means to an end this season and could well be a major factor in keeping us up on a limited budget I wouldn't like to see such a turn over of personnel again next season.

An ageing squad, a lot of players deemed not good enough only spells another clear out. We are under the same constraints are we not? that we are light years behind the revenue created by all, yes all the other clubs in this league. The increase in telly money means squat as everyone gets it, and we'll likely have teams going up not on parachute money, being replaced with those that will have it.

Until we sort out the infrastructure to catch up with our on field success, and expand I see little what we can do but continue in the same mould until that point is reached, fighting every season with a mass of loan players because we can't afford them on our books as our own.

Unless Steve & Tone have some mysterious middle / far east benefactor in the pipeline of course!

If we stay up we will have to do a few things differently if we want to avoid a relegation battle.

And out of those T71 we'd afford a big fat zero of them including Wootton who is now appearing regularly for Leeds
