I agree with every word that is being posted about the demise of Millersmad, but if we keep going on about it they will think we care. I for one stopped posting a long time ago as I became disillusioned with a lot of the content and some of the infantile behaviour exhibited on there. Let's be content that we have Miller's Banter and leave them to it on Millersmad. There welcome to it.

Some credit needs to be given to Exeter as well as the obvious social drift of people who want to post on a friendly board away from a board that.........well Im not sure how to describe it but you know what I mean.

Exeter conducts himself in a friendly and very professional manner and that in itself does not attract confrontation.

This board does need new members to widen opinions and debates and hopefully the more reasonable posters will continue to move over to here.

Good grief, I've just had a peek at the board for the first time in what seems like an age and it really has deteriorated. Despite there being people on there who are genuinely good, honest posters who's posts are worth reading, there really is a lot of needless abuse. I left Millers Mad because of this and I genuinely think it has got worse. Granted, some would say that trying to ensure decent grammar and spelling on the board was abuse (I don't) but even so, much of it was uncalled for. Obviously not everyone is going to get along with other people, but to resort to profanities is really the lowest common denominator. If people use their intellect a bit more and had reasoned debate, I believe the board would genuinely be worth reading.

Having spent some time recently in Berlin and in particular visiting the Pergamon Museum and the DDR Museum, it makes you think about the world in a wider context and how animosity just generally isn't needed.

No doubt I'll be castigated for posting this by some on there, but I'm beyond caring.

To be honest pod the reason why Banter was created was to create an alternative to being called names for having a valid opinion and argument which was spelt out in a reasoned and balanced way. I didn't really consciously stop on mm, I just realised that all the reasoned arguments were elsewhere.

Yeah - indeed! - it's only happening to some, but I can activate them this end so it's no big deal. On the topic, this site has been going 4 months already, number of people I've had to ban = zero, number of people I've had to warn to rein it in = zero.

Sez it all really comparitively

People will move over in time it's inevitable

Hope you're right Exeter because while MM has gone way too far the other way and fallen to trolls, numptys and bigots, I think this site does need a little more 'sparky' debate.

No it isn't. It's right - we do need to get more passion into this site. We don't need trash and insults - we need a blooming good argument from which both sides hold their own - while maintaining respect and Queensbury rules.

They are on a right downer with Ex cry They dont realise that some of us had, had enough and were only too eager to get away from the continued drivel, maybe we just have a lower threshold for Crap than others?
