Surviving in the championship

Not so much this season, I'm talking long term . It goes without saying, If we're wanting to compete with the big boys in this league we can't do it on a shoestring budget, We've got to maximise any potential profit.  Whether it be prospective retail, food&catering venues, Fitness suites, increased attendances.

We need to build season on season and examine every avenue which can increase our proffits/turnover which I think is being done at the moment.  The thing is to build on what we have done and make the club stronger, it wont be easy to compete at championship level but we have to be positive.

If we go down it will be difficult to get back up again.

In hindsight it's remarkable that it only took us 11 yrs.

When you look at the club's that survive in the championship in the modern era they are all decent sizes. Perhaps Huddersfield are as small as it's feasible to be long term.

Barnsley are a perennial second tier club for the most part and I would say they are a similar size to us.

Agree with above and I think we need another backer to come in with TS to survive long term. Just as importantly, we need to get that land converted into a money machine. It's hideous that plans are blocked time after time. TS will get there in the end but will we still be in Champs by the time he does.

What I can't understand is , why these money men go for the likes of Swillsbrough?

It will take more than a pot of paint to even begin to update the sty.

Why not look at the likes of us?

Purely and simply fan base i think, if they ever (Don't think i could cope with their deluded fans if they did no) got in a position to get into the prem then they could get decent gates week in week out. The downside for them would be the cash they'd have to fork out to upgrade what is a crumbling stadium.

We cannot compete with that realistically in terms of regular income streams from match days.

I think the parachute payment issue is getting sorted though for the 16/17 season, sharing that money across the championship, so we need to stick in there until theres a much fairer level playing field.
