Have to agree, my dad was a councillor in the 70s been dead since 82. He would be appalled at what's happened. God knows what he would have made of the Labour party today. Problem is what are the alternatives? Tories never, UKIP worse, Liberals sold their grandmother at the last election. Maybe Russell Brandt might have a point.
I'm afraid the liberals have lost all kudos for me and they won't get it back again.
The conservatives like wise.
As for labour I'm afraid that although I have some sympathy with what Ed is trying to do it is still the same old tired game.
We really do need to do politics and the world differently.
Voted labour back in 2010, this time I'm not even going to bother, Obviously whoever gets in power their concepts will affect me, but talking political wise I've got to a stage of not even been bothered.
It doesn't matter who is in government anymore, It would take something short of a miracle to turn our once great town/country around. And no matter how many ' I have an economic dream visions' or colourful speeches, the fact of the matter is and I know this is going to sound terrible, ' you can't polish a turd' That turd being the sharp decline of our town/country, whether you put that down to high inflation, tax rates, bedroom tax, mass immigration, or benefit scrounger, is your own views and opinions
I'll Always be a proud Rotherham lad, but I prefer to think back to the old days. Now whenever I take the rare trip of walking through the town centre, Without trying to sound pathetic , it puts me on an instant downer, Parasites sat in the pub at 9am on their fourth pint, topless blokes with missing teeth, and the customary pit bull terrier, Single mums pushing pushchairs with the strains of defeat etched on their faces, drunks walking through the town spouting bad language and holding cans of cheap super strength lager. Also Financial wise, long gone is the retail growth, Marks and Spencers, BHS etc, now we just have charity shops, Hire purchase shops and about 5 Greggs
It's Truly depressing, but I can't see Rotherham bouncing back in the near future on whatever positive scale, I think the decline Is set firmly in stone.
I see miss champion showed her true colours by buying a wreath on remembrance day and then claimed expenses for it. Oh dear.... Lower than a submarine toilet.
