For me the one that still rankles the most is the Doc's transfer of John Galley to Bristol City for £15000 in 1967. At the time we were 3rd bottom with City and Plymouth below us. Galley hit a hat trick on his debut, averaged a goal a game that season and all City fans reckon his goals kept them up and sent us down. Ironically he still finished as our leading scorer that season. Any others?
On the plus side It was a couple of seasons of seventh heaven. The success on the pitch. The media coverage. The sense of community. The communication from the club. Alas, it was all a pipe dream and unsustainable.
What followed was a dire fall that lasted until sir tony took over, as even under Mr booth, where we had relative success, there was no vision, no community and no real investment; and most miserable and damming of all, no heart commitment at all.
Ian, when I say 'picture' I mean that box with the spectrum of colours. Strangely hypnotic and disturbing imo and more suited to some modern art gallery than a football forum.

Now you mention it...I was wondering why I keep feeling all vulnerable yet warm and fuzzy. It's the test card without the odd girl and teddy oddity. And we know who was in charge of the bbc back then.
