Revell has played more than twice as many minutes as any other striker at the club yet has the 2nd worst mins per goal ratio. Why does he get chance after chance yet it seems that if Bowery or JCH don't score when given a game that they don't get a look in for weeks
Good stats as they certainly tell an important story, and these ones arent too easy to dismiss as they relate directly to goals and partnerships; Revell has partnered all of them.
I think it must come down to the confidence the management team have in the shape. we have to remember that all sorts of shape and personnel have been tried and none of it looks too much more effective than the other.
If we just go with JCH and Bowery as the stats suggest then we wouldnt be any nearer finding an answer as this partnership has been tried and not always come up with the goods.
I agree that we have to move away from such reliance on AR. He isnt the problem and he isnt the solution.
We have to find away of stretching teams, but we lack pace and width. On top of that, we lack a natural/good striker. I have seen so many teams this season who have a forward line that is incredibly mobile, technically brilliant and strong upper body strength.
By contrast we move at snails pace, allow defenses to all sit behind the ball and then they break with pace once we try to walk through a packed defense, or play a hopeful ball into the box...the rest is history.
