Very sad to read about the situation down at Hereford United FC and I think there but for the grace of Tony Stewart go we.   Only five seasons ago the club were in League One and now after a series of owners of dubious qualification they lie 14th in the Southern Premier (two below the conference) and home crowds in the low hundreds and mounting debts.

The club face their 9th winding up order on Monday and I fear this could well be the end of them.

Yes S8, I hate to see clubs in trouble like Hereford are!

It happened at Darlington and Stockport and it seems like when you get into a downward spiral it's very difficult to get out of!

It's always the fans that suffer so for their sakes I hope they all manage to climb their way back up the leagues!

Its not good reading for a football fan.  Like what Nez says its the fans that have to bare the brunt of mismanagement with the people who made the mistakes long gone hmm

Good grief that looks ominous

What a tale of persistent failure and owners being put in place who couldn't run their children to school on time.

The problem up there is no interest, the catchment demographic doesn't help them - a whopping 23% is 65+ (size 186,000,

http://factsandfigures.herefordshire.gov.uk/1847.aspx

compare that with Yeovil a population of just over 40,000 and 11% is 65+

I might be talking utter poop, but it's long occurred to me the correlation between demographics and professional football catchment areas (sad I know)
