pace

I keep reading/hearing how we need a pacey centre-back(or two) and I wondered how many Centre backs are blessed with pace.Maybe Rio Ferdinand and one or two others but Terry,Cahill and the majority-no.What they have got is awareness and physicality.Against Birmingham the other week,I noticed that Morrison and Robinson knocked Revell ,Derbyshire etc. off the ball at every opportunity. They didn,t have pace but I sometimes wish Morgs and Arni were a bit more PHYSICAL(apart from morgs grabbin

I'll go even further.  I've seen over half of games home and away this season.  Why anyone is even mentioning the defence (SE), is merely deflecting attention from the woeful forward line, which is a direct criticism of the summer transfer policy.  This is even further enhanced with the influx of loan players nearly all in non defensive positions.

Our defenders, and Colin did OK again today, the florists had some highly valued attackers on show but were kept quiet by our "also rans" smile

Have to say that defensively we are looking very good at mo.

Though Morgan, arnie and wootton had one or two very classy moments and our Reece was awesome.

Did anyone else take note when Arnie stood up on at least two occasions to immense pressure in the box to see the ball home. Wootton did the same in perhaps an even more tricky position due the pace of the confrontation and Morgan made one very powerful and timely interception coming in from the blind side-with pace I may add, that would have led to a goal scoring opportunity.

and I didnt see any bear hugs today.
