You need to make a decision about off topic......Its clearly just going to die a death and it's only chance of survival is to combine it with the football posts.
If you think the football site can thrive as a standalone with such a low membership then maybe do nothing.
My advice is combine the two....it's a tried and tested formula that's a proven winner.
We are all trying hard to keep this going but there are only so many hours that we can talk about Matt Derbyshire.
Have to agree with Kempo, I'm not a fan of splitting the board. I like to chat football but at the same time I like to contribute to other threads of interest - think of it a bit like 5 Live, a mixture of sport and current affairs. It's a formula that is popular and works.
If it needs to go to the vote again so be it, but i want to make sure the European commissioners oversee it.
Personally I am not convinced that it matters to the numbers where the OT and Sports threads are; the issue is about start-up numbers and contributions, which I would imagine are fairly uninfluenced by the current menu layout.
The point is Kevin is that we have a static 117 members which is on the low side for sustainability so something needs to be done.
Having o/t on MM has been a strength but oddly we have separated it and made a weakness.
When a success formula is just sitting there then there is no shame in copying it.
If an o/t thread is clearly marked then I fail to see the problem of combining the two.
We need more members that's the bottom line.
Exeter has gone to the trouble to give us a Message Board, its up to us to use it.
The more we use this board, the more posts we supply the more it will grow. Faffing about with the peripherals wont change much. Success wont come overnight, it will take time but if what we want is a Board with sensible chat with no Ads and no Fees then this is very much achievable.
So the message is, Use the Board and spread the word
