I'm worried by all the 'sterling performances' - but the fact of the matter is, for all we did in the 1st half we didn't score. Goals win football matches. If we're 3 up by the time Morgs slips & Collin does errr what he did - the matter is irrelevant. Did we really look that much better than a team with only 8 points and not enough players to fill a team sheet 1 week before the season, also being managed by one of the worst managers in the football league?
Very concerned. These kids might set the world on fire, but in January they go back & we get stuck with the same old issues. Paper & Cracks - Championship is a bridge too far for us just yet, on & off the field
ONE goal in five games tells it's own story, SE has met his waterloo I'm afraid. McCormack at Fulham is worth more than our entire football club, money talks I'm afraid & while we aint skint, we simply cannot compete with the rest of this league.
21 mediocre signings since Wembley instead of keeping hold of the best players in that squad, and adding quality rather than quantity.
Come January what's he going to do? Sign another 6 or 7? What an absolute joke.
Something has to give. Either SE and TS agree to increase the wage structure and get quality in, or reside to the fact we will be playing in league 1 next season.
And I'm afraid if it's the latter, I fear double relegation when the best of what we have decide to jump ship.
Play like that and we will be fine. Really, to win a game you need to score goals, to score goals you need to create chances that something that we aren't doing enough of.
I kind of agree with Kev, we kept the ball much better for a change, we really do need to score when on top though, and there's no accounting for what Collin did, we as fans need to stop knee jerking all over the shop, our budget doesn't allow us to buy top players, that's why SE is gambling on these young uns to hit it off at the NYS, no shame in that, we're not Real Madrid, get a grip people and enjoy the ride.
Really (as on other thread-apologies) have to disagree with the pessimism show. I really thought that this was the kind of shape and football I want to see.
RJ: for his first start he was impressive. attacking, more skill than we have had in that position for many a year. very promising. TL: provided some presence and obvious ability, but in and out of the game. SW: Good debut too. looks somewhat more comfortable than FR, but jury out. KB: thought he was very good and actually, you know what. the central defence looked a little more solid and reliable to me (just saying) until he had to come off. EL: can go missing, but for 70% of the time he was exactly where he needed to be; supportive in tight areas, looking to come inside, or support the wing and most important of all he can actually control the ball and is clearly our most creative player. He is a must start. RS: best game for a long time. PG: back to his best.
BP:ran his socks off. AC: oh dear. he has always had that in his locker. Arnie: average. Captain Morgan: Average, and yes, another slip (57 varieties and counting) JB: very good goal. MD: his best performance? I think so. Great off the ball running. Chased everything. showed flashes of skill and again unlucky. AR: looked up for it when he came on, but alas...

Some of the criticism of players and manager is laughable. SE has brought in quality this week and put them straight in at the deep end, given time to gel and get to know their team mates then all will be better. We build from here and gear towards getting better. Its not going to be easy to competre on and off the pitch at this level but we are giving it our best and keep fighting what ever happens.
Being a supporter of Rotherham United isnt easy, it never has been but we all know that and with being a millers fan comes hard times where we stick with our Team, our Manager, our Chairman and our Club. Thats how we are, loyal and passionate, through good times or bad. If you want instant success then the Millers arent for you, look elsewhere.
