We've sold out!

I remember TS stating that would never happen hence the stands naming

http://www.themillers.co.uk/news/article/rotherham-united-2096088.aspx

All I can say - it better buy us some bloody players to keep us in this league.

I feel cheap & dirty blankstare

This is the way football is now, dont reckon theres a great deal of nostalgia attached to the name anyway given its a new (ish) stadium. I would think this will all be to the betterment of the Football Club in the long term.

I also remember TS saying he would never sell the name of the stadium but if it's earning the club money, so what?

Exactly, let's not get too precious about it.

I can understand fans of clubs with old grounds not liking it, or even when someone changes their name to the Quickquid Stadium or something like that but I think this is something we should be happy about, also like the fact that its a local established Engineering firm.

You have to be an AESSEAL to like it, but it's income.

Does it really matter that much, will any supporter call it the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

We've had 2 seasons to establish the name rather than sell from day 1 so supporters will just carry on calling it New York or NYS.

If you were asked where Derby play would you say Pride Park or iPro? Similar as they had time to establish a name.

St. James' Park or SportsDirect. This probably means less to me than having some business name across the front of shirts.

Lets be right it was always going to happen. If the ground was full each week then maybe wouldnt have needed to do this but atleast we know some will be reinvested in the team.

Money in the coffers.
We'll all still call it New York. We have taken a deal from a multi-national company.
Not many people will be arguing if this helps us pull off a big signing.

Great move, AESSEAL are a big and growing local engineering firm!

I've had the pleasure of a short tour around the facilities and its no wonder they've seen growth year on year for the past 33 years. It's exactly this kind of company which bring in wealth to an area, with million's in exports each year. For me it gets my wholehearted support, better than some faceless corporation with no ties to the area.

The deal is also landing at the right time for potential movement in the January transfer window, lets hope the relationship is of benefit to both parties.

In the future I would like to see more local products at the games, for example the Chantry ales on the bars.

Come on fella's, whatever anyone wants to call it, does it really matter? are we bothered?

Personally i think that to tie this deal up with a successful ROTHERHAM company is great business by TS, gives us even more reason to support this team, this town, what would everyone have said if the naming rights had been sold to an Arab airline or camel breeder?

Brilliant TS, brilliant.hmm
