The Blades have seemingly caved in to overwhelming pressure & withdrawn their offer to let Ched Evans train with them.
I'm amazed it took this long TBH, with sponsors disappearing en mass & the Twitter trolls targeting Jess Ennis etc.
The club hadn't really a choice & had to bow to overwhelming public opinion.
I find rape as abhorrent as anyone else but I do feel as though there seems to be double standards applied here as both Lee Hughes & Luke McCormack were able to resume their professional careers after their actions (in their cars) actually cost people their lives.
Yes, there was such strong feelings surrounding this and enormous pressure put on Sheffield United that it was inevitable that he would have to go elsewhere to do his training.
I totally agree about the Lee Hughes comparison Brad as well.
Both unforgiveable crimes, but it seems that the public are much more forgiving when it comes to murder/manslaughter than they are to rape. Very strange!
