It was scandalous enough they let him in the first place perhaps. But to take so long to bow to public pressure is unforgivable! The board at sheff utd must be made up of the worst kind of arrogance.

I think that the Blades were hoping that they could have their goalscorer back on their books and it would all blow over, but it never stood a chance.

It's difficult to see where he will get employment in the footballing world because there will be enormous outrage from fans if he gets set on at another league club.

Very strange how Lee Hughes returned to football at Notts County though after serving a sentence for murder/manslaughter, where the fans seemed content to "forgive and forget".

The problem with Evans is that he shows no remorse for his behaviour.

He continues to deny his guilt and I'm sure that he still doesn't understand the concept that a woman has to have the capacity to consent and the absence of saying no is irrelevant.

His behaviour and the others with him was disgusting and despicable irrespective of the rape and is a good measure of the man.

I hope Evans never gets back to football and then football can be proud that a message has been sent to all young men re the consequences of such behaviour.

Sheffield United have acted shamefully and it's only the opinion and pressure from others that have forced their hand.

Evans can enjoy his wealth and have a prosperous life after serving his sentence but not in football.

Evans has been very, very badly advised from that pathetic video appearance to trying to fly in the face of public opinion with his return to training with the Blades. He should have kept his head down, let the appeal run it's course and then, depending on the verdict, take appropriate steps to rehabilitate himself. Instead, Sheffield United are now seen to be devoid of any morals in their desperation to get their top scorer back on to the field as soon as possible and have inflicted irreparable damage to the club.

Was he worth it? Was he heck.

Lee Hughes never actually consciously chose to kill. He neglectfully killed.

Ched actively had sex with his victim in full knowledge. You can argue the toss that she was drunk, a slapper, and all that other rubbish that goes with victim blaming and you can build websites that show Ched as an angel and her as an evil witch but it still doesn't alter the fact that in the eyes of the law he raped her. He was found guilty of rape.
