I wonder how many of the starting line up at Wembley thought they'd still be the mainstay of the side in the Championship after a quarter of the season? Apart from Agard, Tavernier and Thomas, the team is now largely the same. Had the aforementioned three not decided to seek better deals elsewhere, it's quite possible that we could be still starting with the same eleven!
Not sure what this says about our activity in the transfer/loan market, or our ability to perform well in the Championship, but what it does say is that we had a damn good side last season!
Think it tell you what a mahoosive let down this summer's transfer activity has been. I'd want serious answers and a root & branch of the scouting department
Interestingly, this season is a carbon copy of previous re recruitment, but our league standing is much worse.
I wouldn't have had any other expectation re policy or league position. I agree that thus far the one thing we haven't done well is recruit effectively in this division.
I'm prepared to put that down to first season being here and if and when we secure our status then next season the team can be properly assessed against expectations of real progress.
Other than that all the team from last season have done ok, but they ain't done any better than that.
