I don't know about you guys but this year's World Cup was one of the most boring ever, the flair and finesse and unknown quantity replaced by a brand of football guided by least errors.  The more gifted country didn't win, the most efficient did.

I don't think it will be too long before national associations pull the plug and go it alone

 I agree Ex, Id love to see a breakaway body formed, the mere threat may be enough to unseat the most corrupt President ever to be in Blatters  position.  I doubt it somehow, but Football cant be gouverned in such a way by such people.

Former FA chairman David Bernstein has now urged UEFA to boycott the upcoming World Cup to effect change within FIFA. It is a big ask to get all the European countries on side and we would need at least Germany, Spain, France, Italy and the Netherlands to back the boycott. Question is would football fans support it? Is the money in football more important than ethics?

I would like to see the threat of a boycott at least to force Blatter to step down so that FIFA can be reformed from the top. I remember the International Olympic committee suffering similar corruption issues and action was swift and decisive. Football needs to learn the lessons from history otherwise I think it could find itself on a downward spiral especially if some of the global brands who sponsor the sport start to think about their association.

As a footballing nation, it's a good time for England to consider boycotting the next World Cup. As a team they would struggle to survive in the Championship and therefore it's a low risk option.

It took something radical to reform cricket and everyone thought Kerry Packer was deranged when he took on the cricket establishment in the 1970s. However, he won and cricket is the better for it. We need someone with his guts (and perhaps his wallet) to take on Blatter and his cronies.

With the healthy state of the other home nation sides, I would be quite happy to see the reintroduction of the annual Home Internationals as an alternative to the dull and painful World Cup qualifying and finals process.
