We do lack that little bit of extra quality that teams who can pay £15k a week or upwards have got. But we can't afford that - not without risking it all. Even if we could, anybody who was worth it would have offers from other Championship clubs who probably offer a bigger stage. It's the usual dilemma. I agree we have recruited well with what we have got and we have made an excellent start. Points against the likes of QPR away and Watford are a bit of a bonus and I think (hope) we might have enough to get enough wins against some of the weaker sides to finish out of the bottom three.
So far so good. I'm happy with our recruitment, league position, although only 7 games in, I'm happy with our goal keeping, defence, and midfield; I think our passing has improved and many parts of our game is sweet to watch, but.......The elephant in the changing room is the lack of goals from the forwards, emphasised by the 38 year old evergreen Wood, leading gaol scorer.
There's much debate about why we have not been able to strengthen this position
But the fact is we haven't. It is what it is but we are going to have to do some business in January, if our attack don't start hitting the net soon, we can't hope to maintain our current position by relying on Woody.
