Not bothered, not bothered at all. TBH I'd prefer us to lose instead of participating in the "showpiece" of a competition that is as corrupt as any in Football.
Play the ressies & rest the first team for a FAR more important game @ Wycombe
I'd play exactly Brad's team exact if Miller is fit for a run out I would play him in place of Rathbone. In fact bring Grattan back and play him instead of Rathbone. At this stage the need to win this comp comes a distant second behind the need to give ourselves the beat chance of promotion.
Great cup tie football and a deserved win for Rotherham. Already got my train tickets booked for Wembley and can't wait. I understand others' reservations about this competition, but as a Rotherham fan, a trip to Wembley is something to be treasured and it comes along so infrequently, you have to make the most of them. Having said that, since returning from Aus in 2013, this is my third visit!!!
If there's one piece of comfort I can give to the doubters, winning breeds confidence, and had we lost tonight, we might have gone into the Wycombe game with doubts. As it is, we saw great performances from our returning guys REG and Miller, and that can only bode well for the remainder of our campaign.
The double is on and let's hope that we can make a little bit of history this season.
I've not paid too much attention to this competition, but I expect there will be the usual rush for tickets by all the would be supporters who fill up large sections of Wembley but are noticeable by their absence at the following home game. Not a criticism since I myself don't go to as many games these days (previously a season ticket holder for 25yrs), but I was wondering how much is this Wembley final worth to the club's coffers. Anyone know.
With prize money and our cut of gate receipts I've seen and heard figures varying between half a million and one million pounds Calypso. I think our supporters have become a bit blase about Wembley visits, it isnt as important as a playoff final and with the greatest respect Sutton have a modest fan base. It might all add up to a smallish crowd, so maybe nearer the lower estimate than the upper one.
