Vs Cheltenham

We have been on a steady and good progression despite picking up a few draws that could have been comfy wins but for poor finishing. Current form is about where it needs to be for a challenge in the top 6.

Next up is last seasons league 2 champions , Cheltenham town. The Robins have had a decent start but we're hammerd last time out by league favourites Sunderland. It looked an off day viewing previous games but one that will worry them.

It's fair to say League one is s big step up for them. They will be very focused on consolidating. They are not as adventurous as some teams but they showed they know how to get positive results last term. Those habits won't have deserted them at this stage on the season , but they will now know what the league is about.

The Millers go in to this game with the right kind of form. A few untidy draws and a mix of good wins starts to Foster self belief without being confident. Micheal Smith epitomised this Vs Wimbledon when he had a quiet game but still managed 2 good goals. We also saw another new back line and it looked pretty flexible and accomplished .

For this one miller may well be an option as an attacking left sided player . He was in great form before his red card and injury. Mattock will be out and so sadly is lyndsey. Wiles may not be 100%. Grigg got his first league goal and a fine one it was . His confidence will now be growing and its clear Smith n grigg enjoy their strike partnership.

Cheltenham have a better home record than we do. Winning 2 , drawing 1 and 1 loss to Wycombe. Our away record is decent but now is the time to step it up and find that clinical edge .

My thoughts are that Cheltenhams confidence will be a bit fragile and if we get the first goal it is a game we should win. We have looked very accomplished away from home. There are no easy games though, as the old cliche goes. Lindsay will be a miss but Rathbone does enough work for two so that should help. Millers to win by the odd goal.

Two changes from Tuesday night. Sadlier for Ogbene and Wiles for Lindsay. I will go 1-2 to the millers.

What we need to do is produce a hybrid of Sadlier and Ogbene. Mind you knowing our luck we would end up with Sadliers athleticism and enthusiasm and Ogbenes technical ability.

Happy enough to see Sadlier get an opportunity. He should be raring to go. Ogbene is a potential game changer off the bench against tiring defenders if we need one.

It's starting to click and we're starting to score. With this squad and this management team, yet another promotion is well within our grasp.

Consecutive clean sheets and comfortable wins. Up to fourth. Five games unbeaten. There isnt much not to like. It's strange to think that seven days ago after the third of those five games we were booed off and the manager was an idiot - ironically after the game in which we played best during this run. As on Tuesday we have won well in the end without really hitting our straps. I hope the supporters stick with this side if and when we slip up (which we inevitably will at some point) because we have something about us and from what I've seen we are as good as most if not all of the competition. It's great that Grigg got another goal. He seems like a confidence player to me and two in two should give him plenty of it.

Another hard fought game in those first 30 minutes. We won the right to play again.

Having miller and chieo coming on is an incredible luxury and brave . It also backs up how high we are willing to press.

Cheltenham, looked pretty poor for L1 . They will struggle sadly . They did give us a good battle but they looked like a L2 team today , though I understand they were missing a couple of starters .

Talking to a Robins fan , he was full of praise for us abs recognised the gap they have to close in quality.

A bit of gossip...he told me he worked for 'Guardian ' our training wear sponsor. Apparently the two head honchos ; one is a rotherham fan , the other a massive fan; They had a box at swillsbrough but pulled it when the hiked their prices. It was either pay up or muck out.

I watched the game and i thought it was so obvious the quality of our players compared to theirs, yes they had two or three of their key players unavailable, but we had a couple missing as well. We have a good quality squad and we can do well in this league, if we avoid too many injuries, keep our best players in January and keep the in game management at the level it has been at in the last two games. Smudge didn't have a good game today, but it shows we can have our main striker miss chances and still get a result away from home. A wonderful solid performamnce, the viking needs to stop trying to get assists for the other team, he got away with THREE today, but well done to the players and the management a real professional performamce.

Derby, what were the 3 mistakes Victor made.

I was at the game too but only saw the one that slipped outta his hand when caught in two minds about releasing the ball.

he kicked against their player twice, both times they bounced away from the goal

Viktor is prone to the occasional hairy moment but also the occasional wonder save. Obviously if he can cut out the bad bits it would be helpful, but up to a point we might have to take the rough with the smooth because he is a bit 'out there'. I love his eccentricity. Every team should have an eccentric keeper. I love having our own player in goal aswell and not a loanee.

We could have Wednesday's keeper who, apart from a world class performance at NYS, appears to be a bit of a dope!

Just shows...I would have sworn on his performance that day. We never looked like getting oast him. He looked 10 feet tall and 10 foot wide.

As for Victor he is probably as good a L1 keeper as we could hope for . He also seems to me likes he's actually improved overall despite his mistakes.
