Confused

I understand slurs & abuse of a personal nature can't be tolerated but are all criticisms of tactics, recruitment & dissapointing results etc outlawed too?

I am up to speed now, what is the big issue here, social media is for fools and narcissists anyway why people even have facebook and Twitter accounts is beyond me, these companies are carrying out major censorship campaigns against anyone with religious or political beliefs that they do not support, the have created Fact Checking organisations that they set up as charities but are all funded by them or their financial backers, withholding information from the people and blocking free speech. celebrities make me laugh, they love the applause and fame and the trappings that go with it, but want protecting against keyboard warriors when they say something they don't like, well it is easy don't go on social media. We have to deal with this whole issue in a way that doesn't restrict free speech but at the same time makes people accountable for what they say. Once we start down a path of making certain items unavailable for debate in open forums we are moving to a place than none of us have experienced but history shows us results in real suffering of millions and to the deaths of millions. As with most things in life it is about finding the balance between protecting people from the harm others want to inflict on them.

Too many people are able to create what are effectively anonymous social media accounts and they use them as a platform to post things that are illegal - things that they would not have the guts to say or get away with saying face to face. At the moment the companies who own the platforms (and make fortunes from doing it) are able to avoid any responsibility because they are technically not publishers, and they resist putting processes in place that would enable the proper authorities to police the space. That is a loophole that needs to be closed. This is not about restricting what people can or can't comment on. It is about people being accountable before the law if they break the law. It seems to me that the only people who could really object to that are the s***bags and cowards who want to hide behind anonymity when peddling their disgusting and illegal bile.
